How to recognise some appliance problems
Having many years’ experience of fixing all types of small appliance, from kettles to microwaves, we’ve put together some key signs that all may not be well with your appliance.
Your microwave won’t heat up
This is a very common problem with microwaves and occurs because of a magnetron failure. Unfortunately, you need to replace the magnetron as it cannot be fixed.
The microwave plate won’t spin
This is probably due to a burned out rotating motor below the plate which is responsible for it spinning. Again, this needs to be replaced.
Your washing machine wont drain
This is often due to a blockage in the pump filter or a faulty drain pump
Your steam iron is not heating
To start, make sure your iron is plugged in… but if it still doesn’t heat up the thermostat may be damaged.
The Dishwasher won’t start
This is often due to a blocked drain pump, faulty inlet valve or door sensor.
